In 1986, then-fledging director Iain D MacKenzie was awarded a slew of honors for his work on the Singapore Army campaign. Since those very early days, the director, cinematographer and photographer has continued to create visually stunning work for which he has taken home countless awards from London, New York and Cannes.

Born and raised in the United Kingdom, MacKenzie received a B.A. in photographic arts & film from the Polytechnic of Central London and then continued his education at various European film schools. He began his career in 1978 with Studio Lambert in London, where he quickly rose to the position of director at just twenty-five.

For twenty years MacKenzie has tackled projects from the dramatic to the humorous, bringing striking creativity and impressive visuals to every frame of every spot. Collaborating with the most creative folk in the business; among them Paul McCartney, Dennis Hopper, Jude Law, Naomi Watts, Chrissie Hynde, Kylie Minogue and Hugh Laurie.

He continues to astound with his poignant work, from Dow’s The Human Element campaign, Mercedes, The Beer Institute, Lincoln-Mercury and Ameriprise, all of which has garnered the higher acclaim from the advertising community.
